DON SCHMUTTE, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. He was the son of the late Everett and Virginia (Keith) Schmutte. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a Fort Wayne Fireman for 21 years before retiring. He also worked at Lindenwood Cemetery in maintenance. He enjoyed being a Ham radio operator, eating, and shopping. Surviving family include his daughters, Kari (Troy) Karshner and Niki Schmutte; and granddaughters, Morgan and Lauren Karshner. He was also preceded in passing by his wife, Lana J. (Howard) Schmutte; and sister, Betty Hoelle.
