WILLIAM C. GEORGE, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021. Born Jan. 21, 1924, in South fork, Pa., he was the son of the late Cecil and Violet George. William served in the U.S. Army during World War II until he was discharged in 1945. He went on to serve on the Fort Wayne Fire Department for 21 years, retiring in 1977. He and his wife then owned the Candy Village until 1983. He then worked at Huser- Paul Co. INC for 15 years until he retired in 2000. William was a member of the Scottish Rite, Mason Lodge 342, Shriners (director and staff past president,) American Legion 296 and Fort Wayne Firefighters Club. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Cubs, and enjoyed IU basketball. He is survived by his children, William L. (Lynda) George and Cynthia Timma; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth George on April 25, 2021.
