RAY GRAFT, 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, in Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 25, 1955, in Mt. Sterling, Ky., he was the son of Mary (Thurman) Graft. Ray graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne. He served his country honorably with the United States Air Force. Ray retired from the Fort Wayne Fire Department as a firefighter. During his career at the fire department, he served as captain and a public information officer. After retirement, he worked for Enterprise and the American Red Cross. On Aug. 3, 2016, Ray married Deanna Hayes in Las Vegas, Nev. Ray loved to travel and enjoyed frequenting Las Vegas, Aruba, and Jamaica. He was into technology and was extremely tech savvy. Ray enjoyed shopping online and gambling in casinos. He was very charasmatic and a people person. Survivors include his spouse, Deanna Hayes of Fort Wayne; mother, Mary Graft of Fort Wayne; sons, Jeromy Joe (Christa) Graft of Brownsburg, Ind. and Jeffrey Ray (Audrey) Graft of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Devon and Gavin Graft, both of Brownsburg, Ind., and Paul and Charlie Graft, both of Fort Wayne; stepson, Eric (Grayce) Holloway of Fort Wayne; step-grandchildren, Makenzie and Izaiah Holloway, both of Fort Wayne; and aunt, Ruth Graft of Snow Lake, Ind. Ray was preceded in death by his father.
