 ROBERT "BOB" SCHWEPPE, 85, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born in Fort Wayne, Bob was the son of the late Carl and Clara Sch weppe. He graduated from Elmhurst High School. He served our country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 187th Infantry Regiment known as the Rakkasan. Bob retired from the Fort Wayne Fire Department in 1987 after 30 years of service. Following his retirement from the Fire Department, Bob became an officer for the Allen County Sheriffs Department for five years. He was a member of Waynedale Lodge No. 739, F.&A.M. Mizpah Shriner, and Scottish Rite. Bob loved being active. He participated in many marathons through the years. He also enjoyed hiking, walking, reading, history, and gardening. Surviving are his daughter, Karen (Kurt) Haag of Fort Wayne; son, Chris (Andrea) Schweppe of Fort Wayne; grandson, Trace Schweppe; step-grandchildren, Austin Douglas, Chad (Jennifer) Haag, Brad Haag, and Allison (Dustin) Wolf; and step-great-grandchildren, Braxton, Norah, Jeffrey, and Jacob. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl Schweppe, Mary Dautz, Helen Jahn, and Dorothy Dunn.
