ROBERT E. OMAN, 78, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Born Jan. 1, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late James and Dorothy (Golmer) Oman. He graduated from South Side High School, entered the United States Marine Corps, and honorably served his country for four years during the Korean War. Bob was a firefighter for the City of Fort Wayne Fire Department for 25 years. Bob lived to play golf. He was a member of the Firefighters Local 124, the Fort Wayne Firefighters 20 Year Club and Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Susan Oman of Fort Wayne; son, Michael Oman of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lynette Paliganoff of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Kim Cameron of Bandera, Texas; three grandchildren, Adam Myer, Megan Paliganoff and Ethan Oman; three stepgrandchildren, Chandler Glover, Madison Salway and Conner Cameron; and brothers, Don (Bev) Oman of Fort Wayne and Alan (Trish) Oman of Indianapolis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Oman. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1505 Bethany Lane, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour before the service.
