JAMES L. FREDRICKS, 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Born in Fort Wayne, Jim was a 1958 graduate of North Side High School. He was a firefighter with the City of Fort Wayne and retired as a captain. Jim was owner of Fredricks Lawn Care and Old Fort Myers Restaurant and most recently served as a guard at the City County Building. He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne Turners, Firefighters Local 124, and Firefighters 20 year Club. Jim enjoyed golf and softball and established the Hoosier-Buckeye Softball Tournament. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed following Notre Dame Football and I.U. Basketball. Jim loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. Surviving are his wife, Luanne Fredricks of Fort Wayne; daughter, Theresa (Richard) Musser of Nixa, Mo.; son, Scott (Tabitha) Fredricks of Fort Wayne; daughter, Cassie Fredricks of Fort Wayne; stepson, Zachery (Tiffany) Ellenwood of Albion; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Service is 10 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
