LYLE G. FRETZ, 78, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he work ed as a firefighter with the City of Fort Wayne for 25 years, retiring in 1987, and also as a service technician for Nowak Supply for 24 years. She was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church and the Firefighters Union, Local 124. He was a great story teller and loved to go camping. Surviving are his wife, Joan Fretz of Fort Wayne; daughter, Terri (Steve) Squires of Fort Wayne; son, William (Bobbie Brunson) Fretz of Fort Wayne; stepsons, Randall (Nancy) Brunson of Huntington, Daniel (Robin) Brunson and Mark (Marcia) Brunson, both of Fort Wayne, Robert Tracie Brunson of Bluffton, and Timothy (Myra) Brunson of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by first wife, Sally Fretz; parents, Gerald and Nancy Fretz; and step-grandson, Chad Brunson. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Martin Gehring and the Rev. Donald Meyers officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the funeral home. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
