EDGAR "DICK" R. FENTON, 85, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. Born in Fort Wayne, Chick was a District Chief for the Fort Wayne Fire Department, retiring in 1984 after serving for 31 years. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church; Firefighters Local 124 and American Legion Post 82. He was a Navy World War II and Korean veteran. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Richard (Sheila) Fenton of Fort Wayne; daughters, Diana (Thomas) Pate of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Linda (Robert) Strabbing of Churubusco; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather and David; and two great-grandchildren, Maximo and Cecilia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Evelyn; and sisters, Marilyn Gunkel and Marjorie Howenstine. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery.
